Stubborn (Poem)

I’d rather leave our words unsaid.

They don’t match what is truly inside my head.

Meaningless lies and wandering eyes.

Broken hearts in disguise.

Was it all so terrible?

I’ll admit, I’m no victim.

At the same time, there’s a reason why I picked him.

The taste of your lips are stained bittersweet.

The day you missed me is the same day you let her spite me.

The thought of it occasionally sneaks into the front of my mind.

Every story ends, even though ours was abrupt.

Don’t reopen would, we know it will hurt twice as much.

Look into my eyes as hard as you want, but I’m leaving it unsaid.
